&lt;p&gt;Connecting to your SQL Azure database and executing a few TSQL statements may be the first thing you want to do after obtaining a SQL Azure account. SSMS is the most familiar tool to most database developers. SSMS 2008 does not fully support connecting to SQL Azure database (event in SQL Server 2008 R2 release), however there are workarounds.&lt;/p&gt;
