how to insert and retrive chemical formula in sql databse

I am designing a project for online test series for all subject like mathematics, physics, chemistry, . I have a problem in storing mathematical equation which includes special symbols an in organic chemistry structural formulas etc.How can we store it in sql server 2005 database .i tryed by importing the mathematical and chemical formula in SQL server database using.XLS file but in place of chemical formula and mathematical equation its showing null or different character.in database. after storing it i want to retrive it on asp.net web page. Your's sincerely PANKAJ

  • Can you please tell me what is the datatype you have for the column you are storing formula in?

  • i have tryed with nvarchar(max) and with image data type but iam unable to retrive it on asp.net page because if iam storing the symbols in form of image in database its storing it as binaryvalue and iam not able to get the same value which i have stored it in the form of image:(
