Can you share links of best blogs, websites that a developer must read to improve it's knowledge,to share information or something else.

for example i like to read

www.sqlauthority.com
sqlservercentral.com
simple-talk.com
beyondrelational.com etc.

it is not specific to sql. but i will be happy to know the list of sql,vb.net,oops and design.

  • I think it all depends on the individual tastes and what one person likes may not be interesting to some one else. A few things I could suggest is:

    1. When you read some one's blog, you can usually see a 'blog roll' or 'blogs that I like' box where they usually mention the other blogs that they are following. In most cases, you could find similar content.
    2. I once asked a few friends to export their RSS subscriptions and send me. I could then subscribe to the same feeds as those friends and then could find a lot of interesting resources.
    3. Usually when I would like to read something specific to a particular technology or area, google is the best friend I always find.

Considering that there is so much content around from various locations, the real challenge is how to consume all the information available :-)

  • I do not have a proper reading list as of now. I used to have hundreds of RSS feeds added on my feed reader. In the last few years, I could not follow them regularly.

There are a few websites that I am subscribed to, such as www.sqlservercentral.com or sqlauthority.com. I do get emails about new posts in my in-box and then I will go and read them. In addition, I try to read every book published by simple-talk.com and available at http://www.sqlservercentral.com/books.
