Plink and DB2

Oct 8 2011 12:00AM by Jack Vamvas

Connecting from Windows to Linux is possible with plink.exe

Plink is part of the PuTTY toolkit. Plink is  the command line interface to the PuTTY backend.

One of the interesting methods  to apply is connecting to DB2 on Linux. In the example below the plink command  is : a connection  made to Linux and a shell script is executed on the server. With the output onto “data.out”

C:\plink.exe -ssh -2 -P 22 dbuser@servername -pw dbuserpw su – dbuser2 -c /healthDB2.sh > data.out

In the next post I’ll outline how to integrate Plink with Powershell – for a DIY DB2 reporting solution
