Introducing the much awaited "search" functionality

Apr 2 2012 12:00AM by webmaster

One of the features that we were very busy working recently, is the search functionality. We have been beta testing the search feature for some time and thought of making it open for everyone from now onwards.

You may have already noticed a search bar towards the top of the left side panel.

Search bar

This search bar will provide you easy access to the search functionality which many of you have been asking for long time.

Your feedback

As always, your feedback will help us to improve this functionality further. Currently we do have a few known issues which we are working on resolving. We would invite your comments based on your experience using the new search functionality. Please post them either as a comment, feature request or as a bug so that we can take immediate corrective actions in case something is going wrong.

  • I bet it will be quite often in use. Does it make search only at section under which widget is, or rather in whole site?

  • When you do a search from a section (other than home page at http://beyondrelational.com), the search results will be loaded with a pre-filled filter and the results will show only data under the current section.

There are a few ways to clear the pre-loaded filter.

    1. Click on the "Remove Filter" link on the top of the search results. This will clear the filter and re-run the search.
    2. Click on any other section given on the left side panel. This will switch the filter to the desired module and refresh the results.
