Recently in an interview, I faced this question
What is difference between user control and custom controls?
Difference between user control and custom control lies in usage of these.
To change the control behaviour, custom control can be used. Eg: To add a look-up items to a textbox, a custom textbox can be created as a separate control.
When certain functionality is used across multiple pages, we can wrap it inside a user control and this user control can be used in multiple pages. Thus this gives re-usability. Eg: A navigational items control, which can be used in multiple pages can be wrapped inside a user control.
