I just learned that while working in SSMS if you have a doubt you can ask in msdn forum using the toolbar "Community > Ask a question" and the forum web page opens right within Books Online.
Thanks for sharing this. This is a great feature. SSMS has got several valuable featues that we often fail to notice, until some one brings it up like this :-)
Thanks Jacob
Nakul has been doing a great job exposing many of the under-appreciated features of SSMS through a series of blog posts. It is good to see new features being 'discovered' every day.
Hello!
Thank-you, Madhivanan for bringing this feature to notice! It's what they say - one hardly sees things that are right in front of their eyes. Similarly, SSMS is such a powerful tool and it's common use causes us to not see the obvious - making it one of the most underappreciated feature of Microsoft SQL Server.
Thanks & Regards,
Nakul Vachhrajani http://beyondrelational.com/blogs/nakul/default.aspx
Thanks Nakul for the feedback
Thanks for the tip, You could also do the same from inside BIDS, help menu- ---> MSDN Forums
Hello Madhivan,
I knew this since SQL Server 2005, but there is a little problem : as i have my OS and my 2 SQL Server instances which are french, i can only arrive in the french MSDN forums, not the us forums. Bad luck for me as the french MSDN forums are poor ( for the whole french forums , about the same count of threads than the tiny SMO/DMO us forums ).I have tried to change the internet address to arrive to the page of the SQL Server MSDN forums, but i nver succeeded. If someone knows how to do, that will be very useful for me ( and every people who prefer to avoid the forums with their own languages )
