About "TSQL Challenges"

What are TSQL Challenges?

The challenges we publish through the 'TSQL Challenges' series aimes at helping people to test and enhance their SET based querying skills using TSQL. The most beneficial part of these challenges is that, through these challenges, one gets the opportunity to see better solutions to solve a given problem, from other SQL Server experts.

TSQL Challenges focus on writing queries that transforms data from one structure/format to another. Ideally, each challenge will show a set of source data and the expected result data. A single TSQL query should be written that transforms the data from the source format to target format.

What are the schedules?

Our plan is to come up with a challenge every week. We really want to publish a challenge every friday and each challenge will close in 10 days. This ideally gives the participants two weekends to work on the challenge and come up with their best. Each challenge will close on the second monday after the challenge is published, and then we will start reviewing the entries. The winners and best answers will be announced during the week days.

What I have specified above is the ideal schedule, but currently we are not able to maintain that 100 per cent. But we are getting more organized and we are trying our best to stick to the schedule for managing this better.
